A powerful portrait, nicely composed but being constructively critical I think you have overdone the processing on the eyes, obviously intended to draw the viewers attention I think it needs a little more subtlety, other than that a good image

Anything that I give a ribbon to will have 2s, 3s and 4s on it, almost guaranteed. The largest and most foregrounded subject is completely out of focus. Left brains have trouble with that.

Anyone voting as low as a 2-4 on this shot was clearly tactically voting down a shot they knew would do well. The sharpness, focus, DOF and subject are great in this image and it certainly meets the challenge in my eyes. I gave an 8, I would have gone higher but the man in the foreground does pull my eye since he's so prominant in the photo, even though he and the background man are nicely bokehd. Looking at it again, I wish I'd given it a 9. Congrats on your high placing anyway!
