I think the scene has a lot of potential. But there a couple things you could do to make it even better. #1 as you already stated a tripod is a must, but I have done successful night shots propped on a car or a rock or just anything you can use to hold it steady for however many seconds you need it. On night shots I always use my remote or the timer just pressing the shutter button can cause an image to have blurr. Also you aperture is too large. I like to use an aperture of at least 6 and then leave the shutter open longer, also you ISO is fairly high, night photography is really noisy anyway, and a high ISO will make it even worse. I would try something more around 400 especially since you had the moon to help with light. The image also has blur that I don't think comes from camera shake I think it is from not being in focus. That may be partly due to the large aperture and partly due to the low light and not being able to find a focus. I would have used AF to focus on the moon then immediately switch to MF and recompose your shot including mountains without touching anything. Then you know you have a good focus point. I agree with the last comment about the road not adding interest. but if you crop it off then this picture would be out of balance. I think next time just compose your shot without the road in it.

All in all I think the scene has good potential for a re shoot. Good luck!

Looks like a beautiful place. I haven't done much landscape or night shot experience. I would definately use a tripod. Try cropping it so you don't see the road. The road does not add anything to the photo in my opinion. There are a lot of landscape photographers on this site. Hopefully one will see your post and give you some tips and/or suggestions.
