I love the shadows. It is eerie and spooky. Like the use of BW as I dont think color would work well here.

The blur creates the tension and the eye grounds the composition, the bars give me abstraction so I become the other.

If I may most humbly suggest, your topic is (or should be) "Ambiguity" and these two are off to a brilliant start. They are both multilayered images we rarely see in dpc. Keep it up and I'll be disappointed if you don't.
