as sun setsby mariucaComment by streetpigeon: Very nice, with so many juicy details. I prefer this version to the other, landscape orientation. In that other version I felt the left third added little of interest and, however quirky, didn't go for the car floating over the table. This version gives greater emphasis to the man and I prefer the more muted lighting on his head. So I like this very much. It's both intimate and expansive. My favorite detail is the shadow of the window lettering thrown casually across and over his shoulder. From it you can understand where the sun is, and I love making inferences of what's outside the frame. |

chez-nousby mariucaComment by posthumous: how beautiful it is while dormant, like that junkie you fell in love with who is so beautiful while she's sleeping. |

Glory to foodby mariucaComment by posthumous: Originally posted by posthumous: Originally posted by insteps: French fare? The pretentious, golden rooster keeping an eye on the gastronomes. My favorite of the three because you made this your own. Beautifully framed and those giant register keys pull us in. Is that five rolls of toilet paper? | I had the same horrific thought but surely those are rolls of receipt paper for the cash register. |
to correct myself, it's probably for that little device just behind the rooster. If I recall Paris correctly, they have little credit card machines that they take right to your table to do the credit card transaction. |

Glory to foodby mariucaComment by posthumous: It's so good with the title. You're both celebrating good cuisine and also making fun of pretentiousness. |

chez-nousby mariucaComment by wbanning: Your approach this SC is going to keep me salivating all month!. I love the interplay of hand-written boards, formal serif all-caps fonts, and the whimiscal lettering of "chez nous." A graphic design nightmare... a restaurant to dream about. |
