Virtuosityby mariucaComment by streetpigeon: All the more interesting because of the overlap of surfaces akin to one another. The jacket has a studied, haphazard look, and in the background is de Kooning-cum graffiti. They play off each other, as the photographer has so cunningly noticed. One can even say the one is a facade for the other. The overall shifting quality is fascinating. |

Mother's Dayby mariucaComment by willem: I see great soft colours and a lovely light from the back right that softly strikes across the objects. It creates a great atmosphere and depth. The second light source is behind the glass vase? Hard to see where it is coming from, but it creates some distracting lights in the foreground. I would have cropped the image just across the bottom of the fan to make it more balanced (that would raise my score with 2 points at least). I find the foreground too busy and distracting. |

green eyesby mariucaComment by timb: Nice capture! Good light and focus. The subject appears a little disgusted at the situation though. :) |

Ephemeral delightby mariucaComment by streetpigeon: Perhaps this lovely photograph speaks to me because I'm so familiar with this path alongside the reservoir in Central Park, NYC, and have many times visited it. Maybe not, as it's beautiful without any personal connection. My wife, Shelley, and I have so very much enjoyed our strolls here, in springtime and otherwise. I treasure these memories you have evoked for me, in these days without. The cherry tree blossoms fill the world.
Personal favorite of the challenge.
(this is a rewrite of the comment I stupidly blew up when I tried to change my 8 to a 10 in the last minute of the evening) |

hide and seekby mariucaComment by PennyStreet: This is really great. I don't know if I really agree with people who say that cats are people too, but this image might support that. |
