Best Friendsby NeuferlandComment by TrollMan: Very sharp. The girl with the reddish hair does not look as natural as the other one in her pose. It looks like she is straining a little to stay in that position. Both of their faces are very natural tough and colors are excellent.
Great job! 10 from me. |

Focusedby NeuferlandComment by puzzled: Fantastic entry, Deannda! I love the processing here; the subject is ready to jump out of the screen. The background is so interesting with this processing ... looks so old-timey. The graffiti also adds interest. But the best part is the gradient or whatever it is you put around the edges, especially in the sky area. I think that's what makes the biker stand out so well. |

Focusedby NeuferlandComment by Elvis_L: I like the photo but I think it may have been more stiking in color. I am not a fan of the border |

Christmas 2002by NeuferlandComment by Louis: Greetings from the Critique Club!
Overall, a nice image with an immediate impact, particularly for those of us who live in a part of the world where an picture like this brings back great memories of childhood. The colours are satisfying for a photograph that's mostly snow. Composition is done nicely, the three-quarter view of the house a good choice.
The snow gives the photo a noisy quality that detracts for me, although it is indeed immediately recognizable as snow. It also has the effect of giving the entire composition a somewhat soft feel, which does not benefit the photograph. The large dark tree at left draws the eye persistently; perhaps a tighter crop around the house would have avoided this. Similarly, the house almost "floats" above a very soft undefined area of snow in the foreground, which is just slightly too heavy for my taste. Overall tone and exposure leaves the image slightly flat. Perhaps some work in post could have popped the house and made the elements around it recede somewhat.
Overall, though, a good photo, and one that really does bring back wintry memories of my childhood. Thanks. :)
Hope this helps,

Tweeking his Boardby NeuferlandComment by espy2: I'm not much for receiving or giving comments, but since Candids are
near and dear to my heart, I have decided to give comment on every entry
in this challenge.
This is ok, but holds very little interest for the viewer. The way it is PP, without the title I wouldn't have noticed the board. It's just not extra ordinary, nor does it tell much of a story, or spark the mind with stimulation. It's a 3 for me. |
