Looks like this was once a medieval cart path. Good job of capturing the feeling of the European-ness. Lots of great detail in the bricks considering the acute sun angle.

Very nice! And per Peter's comment, it seemed to me that everyone in Europe was able to produce an umbrella at any time. Yet I never saw them carry them unopened. It remains a great mystery to me.

I have been there more than once in the rain - maybe even more often in the rain than not LOL I love your use of the man at the top of the stairs. I probably would have moved over or waited until he moved but I would have missed a most interesting shot - he makes the image, imo.
