when i saw this in voting i felt sure it would get the blue .. i dont know why, but when i looked thru the challenge i didnt see Irene's .. as i would probably have changed my mind about this getting the blue .. vying for the red or yellow for sure though ..
i actually showed this pic to a couple of my friends when it was in voting .. as i was pretty blown away and i wanted to show them the quality of images that ppl put in the challenges ..
they were very impressed .. going WOW .. !! ..
i absolutely loved the smoke btw .. it added another element to this lovely still life .. almost a mysterious quality .. i'm expecting some magical creature to appear and bestow some special power on me .. possibly the ability to take amazing and imaginative photos .. :(

I'm not sure how you could have used a flash or strobe to light the boat from the distance, but you get the benefit of the doubt. That deep blue background is just striking.
