Old Carpenters Handby phooztComment by blindjustice: I was not much of a fan of the composition, but I really can't ignore th egreat powdery texture of the cup, the smoothness of the hands, YOu can almost feel them from looking at the photo. great job; well above average- with the right composition you would have a blue ribbon, otherwise, its still good. |

On the sunny side of lifeby phooztComment by JacksonGariety: Greetings! From the critique club! XD
Beautiful capture Sammy...
First thing I notice is the bee on the flower, so kudos to you for getting the shallow DOF perfect. The processing and colors are fantastic, however there's three things that could have been done differently to achieve a better photo:
1. I think many will agree with me on that this would've scored better had you cropped in closer on the bee. There are many available crops at yours disposal, and the closer the better.
2. Also, processing has created some halos around the bee and the leaves, some noise reduction, GB and detail enhancement can get rid of that.
3. I also would have liked to see the bee's wings sharper. Using a faster shutter speed of around 1/800 sec would have helped that, you could also bump the ISO up to 200 if you needed some more light.
Hope that was helpful to you!

Old Carpenters Handby phooztComment by GiorgioBaruffi: a good shot, but is not so minimal... there are too many subjects to achieve the goal of this challenge (IMHO)... i give you a 6 because the shot is beautiful... |

Get Your Motor Runningby phooztComment by geinafets: Having something in focus on either side of the image with a lot of out-of-focus space in the middle makes my eyes jump back and forth across the image, which makes for a very tiring viewing experience. The drawing is intriguing, so I would have preferred to have the left of the image cropped. |
