The composition and cropping are very powerful. The colours also create a sort of tension in the image. This image becomes more compelling the more I look at it.

This is a great shot. I love everything about it. There's so much going on! The steam, the vehicles, the cross, the man in the red hat.... even the plant in the giant pot. There's so much to look at, and I think you got the exposure and composition perfect. Very well done, and an interesting commentary!

I would personally have preferred the main focus to have been on the grid, I keep getting drawn to the passing vehicle and maybe a faster shutter would have shown more detail in the smoke/steam and the background seems a little busy for me (considering the challenge)

i guess this is one of those shots that caused the great 'smoke vs steam' debates...well, it doesn't matter to me. i would have liked this more with more of it, and with a different title. wild colors, interesting lines.

The blurred car lights are great, adding some mystery. The steam coming from underground works fine for smoke.

Just a lil observation: "Atlas" with the golden apples, ally of the Titans, condemed to carry the weight of the world vs. "(The) Atlas" - a book of world maps.

I'd consider dropping the definite article.

Hi Rooster...

The composition on this photo doesn't seem to really create any significant level of visual appeal. The photo also seems to be a bit soft and lacks general sharpness. I don't know what this scene had to offer, but possibly a different camera angle/perspective would help eliminate some of the distractions from the statue itself. A tighter composition that just highlights some interesting aspects of this statue could also be quite nice... something more than a simple documentary view. Finding a composition within a composition is sometimes an excellent way to create some high impact photos :)
