This has a mysterious, surreal feel to it. Almost ominous in a way, like it's a shot for 'What lies beneath'. Something spooky is coming out of that water, I just know it! :)

I agree with BeckyT, you have broken some of the rules and made me love it for its emotion. Who cares if it has a "tree growing out of her head" or blown sky. The impact of this shot is just awesome. Like Becky said the tones really make the subject pop. As a side note, I'm not knocking anyone else's opinion about distractions, it just has enough emotion for me that it overcomes them.

Oh My Gosh this is soooo emotive it gives me the goosebumps and I am not just saying that. The tones you have achieved here just make this photo pop. What a great idea to put a white shawl around the girl and have her stand in front of a dark tree off to the rule of thirds. Then the DOF just adds further impact. Wonderful.
