Boy Fishby NeilComment by Fibonacci: In my opinion, this is the finest image that I've seen anywhere on this site. You have moved the art of photography to a new level. Words simply fail me. Well done Neil.

Tulipby NeilComment by scalvert: Yeah, that's really a great shot. I'm guessing that your score suffered from the painterly quality- it looks like it was run through a watercolor filter or something. This is one of those shots that gets killed for assumptions that aren't true. If the voters could see the first paragraph of your comments, this likely would have made the top ten. |

Glacier Point Driftwood 2by NeilComment by soup: well it's a nice photo - very pretty.
as far as the driftwood goes, what if you masked the entire shoreline area ( grass, and rocks ) including the driftwood, and sort of dodged outward from the area you want to lighten most. would be easier to mask the larger are - than just the details of the wood.
i did a quick mask, quick edit
i also burned the foreground a tad to dull some of the clutter on the shore.

Boy Fishby NeilComment by sfalice: This is an exciting use of Photoshop. I tried to do something like this a while back with limited success. So, I'll try your method. Thanks for posting it. And yes, this is a fine "drawing"... |

Glacier Point Driftwood 2by NeilComment by Skip: while i find this shot beautiful (and am both appreciative of your taking me there and, at the same time, jealous), as a print, i find the driftwood here a distraction. |

Whitepass Whitewaterby NeilComment by rayg544: Seems like it could use a little more light. Otherwise the mountains, trees, and river are beautiful. Good eye for the staggered mountains. |
