How did you generate the texture in the top half? It instantly brings Van Gogh to mind, but the bottom is altogether different. It probably makes it a little too incohesive. Oh, I see that Ursula has said all this, but better.

Hmmmm. Since you asked for honest feedback, Neil, I find this curious to look at, but I was sort of turned off from it at first, and, the more I look at it, the more I find it, well, interesting but not to my liking. That may just be a personal thing though. It seems so disconnected! It doesn't feel like a storm to me at all, more like a bunch of stuff that is not making much sense in my mind. And, it reminds so much of the swirly Van Gogh style (like "starry night"), and yet, the swirls seems to be there with no particular good purpose. Maybe it's because the rest of the scene, outside of the swirls, feels so still, in spite of you saying it's a storm. There's all the footsteps in front too, and other marking in the snow, and they don't lead to anything. The dark vignetting is quite overpowering too. The rather pinkinsh overtone makes for a soft, gentle feel that, again, collides with the swirls.

Neil, any picture that elicits these many words must have something in it, but I can't say that I find it all that attractive. Sorry.

Neil, how do you see this? What are your thoughts about it?

Great shot, Neil. Is this a local shot? I'd love to know where it was taken.

This needs NO straightening. This is photography after all. I figure if you had wanted it perfectly, boringly (is that a word?) straight, you'd have hit it head on. It's fine as is.

Yes, as Marjo says, the near mathematical precision of this piece makes it especially interesting. This would be a gem with just a touch of straightening. (and I know, not as easy to do as to say)
