I dont know your cameras controls, but perhaps a smaller aperture and thus a greater DOF could have been used to get more of the shot in focus.

I like the idea a lot, but unfortunately, this image doesn't do alot for me, mainly because of the blurry red tacks framing it. I think if they were gone, this image would be greatly improved.
