food is very difficult to photograph in an appealing way. I've never tried my hand at it myself, but for this I'd try to get the light from front (not back) and focus on the salami and let the rest blur (using a large aperture). I think white (or plain) dish would work better, same with the tablecloth. photog's who do this for ads use all kinds of tricks, like hairspray, steam and usually rend the food inedible. Good luck

The lighting here could be better. Perhaps mulitple lights, or if you wanted window light, a different time of day. Basically, the photo is darker than I feel it should be.

looks a little under-exposed - but more exposure will blow those highlights in the plate - so then the light's got to move to the right or left, leaving shadows, which need fill - so another light source - food shots are hard! I admire you for the creativity, and nice food layout. The angle on the checks in the table cloth is nice too. Get good at food shots and I'll hire you when I need them! :)
