in this image, too, the dark clouds are just too overwhelming. however, if you cropped out the top 65% of the image, you have something that is both dramatic and easy on the eyes. i'll bet it was spectacular to watch!

Nice lighting and arrangement. This certainly meets the challenge as it uses yellow to "lead to the impact of the photo," something most did not do.

The focus is very clear and the colors are wonderful. I'm afraid the artificial flowers might hurt your score. And I think the composition might be improved, but I don't know enough about what I'm doing to be more specific :( It looks like you have a great camera and know how to use it well. I am absolutely shocked that this picture did not place higher. I gave it a 10 and I still think it should have been a ribbon winner. You can feel the coarse texture of the fur, the grainy texture of the skin around rim of the eye and even the hair stuck on the eyeball makes me blink thinking about how that must feel. I think you were robbed!
