Composition and Framing: I see absolutely no problems with this photo on either of these issues. The subject is very nicely placed on the 'third' line and also nicely centered vertically in the frame. The vertical centring allows the 'road' to have the visibility it needs in this challenge. I also really appreciate the way the shadow provides a nice diagonal in the frame. This diagonal helps draw attention to the subject.
Image quality: The image quality on this photo is also very nice. Everything is crisp and clear, as it should be in this type of photograph. The tones of blue that you have in your sky are very nice. Possibly a bit darker blue would have been nice but that is just my preference.
Challenge: This photo has done an excellent job of meeting the challenge. I expected to see something like this, but this is a good thing! Your impression of what I 'expected' to see is indeed beyond my expectation.
Note: One of my photography mentors has always told me that a photograph should generally read like a book - from left to right and from top to bottom. With this in *my* mind, I would possibly attempted to do this shot with the hiker placed on the 'left' third line and walking towards me instead of away from me. This is just a thought of my own personal opinion.
Now that I have tried my critique method on your photo, I think i like it. I obviously can't comment this way on everything, but maybe i will try it more in the future... btw - i scored this shot a 10.. i really like it! good job!
