Fashion Hunterby Jon_HComment by HarveyG: Gun safety is rather critical in my world :) Been carrying for 30+ years. Sorry if I seemed harsh, it's only a photo after all. In SA we are only allowed 0.177" unlicensed. 0.22" has to be licensed. A break neck .22! Interesting. Grog's right, those nails! :) |

Fashion Hunterby Jon_HComment by Yo_Spiff: Grog train females to defend younglings in cave while Grog away on hunt. Grog try to tell female glowing-in-dark nail polish not good for fight in forest. Female not listen to Grog. Says Grog know nothing of good fashun sense. Enemy tribe find female in dark and takes. Good, now enemy tribe may breed stupid younglings. |

Fashion Hunterby Jon_HComment by lawrysimm: I can't decide whether the fact that there is only a segment of face showing is an issue or not. For me, my eye is drawn immediately to her finger nail, not her eye, and as such I don't engage with the model. The strap clip between the finger and the eye is a problem too (albeit not much you can do about that one). It serves as a stop off between eye and finger, so my gaze darts about between the three points. Perhaps a focus on the eye with a shallower depth of field would help. Maybe no nail polish would help too. Finally, because of the way she is holding the gun, her hand does not look very elegant, and as that is the main focal point for me, again it's not very engaging. On the plus side, I like the lighting and processing, and I think the props of the gun and the camo jacket could well be put to future use. I score this a 6. |

Fashion Hunterby Jon_HComment by HarveyG: A lot of voters will hate this image thanks to the "aaargh, a gun!" factor.
Personally I'm not enamoured because she is not holding it correctly or safely...it's neither pulled tight into her shoulder nor is her cheek in the correct position for aiming, that is on the cheek plate of the stock. She is clearly not ready to fire the weapon safely or accurately yet her index finger is already on the trigger and not on the guard.
Perhaps it's art and the lighting and exposure is good, but personally I'd strive for some believability too.
BTW it's a 0.177" single shot break neck air rifle. Not a semi-automatic... |

Wake Up People Are Watching!by Jon_HComment by bobnospum: Nicely seen and shot. Not sure I like the lady's odd expression as well as her lack of connection with the two sleepers. The border is disctracting, go with something simple and let your photograph speak rather than the border. |
