Very clear and sharp. Good idea using the net in the background half buried in sand, it gives it that old piratey feeling to it. The cork looks too new and doesn't give me the feel that the bottle has been floating around for a long time. I would have aged it or battered it around a bit (9)

Nicely composed with good use of background materials - DOF throws them out of focus enough not to distract from main subject but not so much as to lose recognition. A solid traditional subject matter. I like the more casual touch of the two loose flowers and petals. Not sure about black and white though I appreciate that in colour the balance between foreground and background may not have been maintained.

I'd be hypocritical if i didn't say that i don't like centerpiece pictures. You definitely get my vote because of the black and white film. It captures so much. For instance, the delicate flowers, the fragility of you subject, contrasts beautifully with the grain of the wood and the books in the background. these are three subjects that were meant to be together.
