Ophidiophobiaby tryals15Comment by PaulE: Hiya. I'm inclined to think this should have been entered in the short depth of focus challenge. This would have been much more striking if the whole head had been in focus. As it is, it is a good shot, and certainly gets to me. |

Ophidiophobiaby tryals15Comment by metoecus: I would have liked to have the front part of the snake's nose in focus too. With such a narrow DoF a catchlight can really add a lot to the image. The strong shadow under his head is a little distracting, but the DoF works in your favor to make it less important here. |

He has his finger in that position to keep it clear of the trigger. That is the ready position. Good photo the guy in the center looks like he has his knees bent. |
