aby daisydavidComment by posthumous: in this essay, the photos fade into each other. this photo already looks like it's fading into something else. So does the last photo. There is no stable image, no moment frozen. Your essay is as fragile and beautiful as the world in front of the camera.
Color fades to black and white. People fade to black and white. Family fades out and in... with yourself in the middle.
what makes this good? what makes a melody good? damned if I know. |

them rocksby daisydavidComment by daisydavid: Thanks Giles. I used a Mamiya 7ii with a 43mm lens and Ilford XP2 Super High speed ISO 400 B&W Film C41 Process. I developed myself really badly. Then scanned it on an Epson V600 to .tiff then photoshopped for contrast and clarity. The smooth rock nearest in the foreground right is about 1.5 metre wide.
