first realitiesby daisydavidComment by ubique: Absorbing. And long-lasting. Like one of those Choo-Choo bars of our youth; they satisfied from start to finish, and they never did seem to finish. This essay will reward consideration for as long as the viewer cares to look, and in my case that's a long, long, Choo-Choo bar time.
A particularly thrilling idea for me, that you have graced each of analog & digital with equal billing. You let me see them in this essay as the Vladimir and Estragon of photography. I might never be able to consider them separately again now.
The pictures are beautiful, complex and (sorry about this) ambiguous. I loved trying to more clearly tease out one of each pair with each of my eyes, and that nearly worked but they always swam back into concurrence before I could make any notes. So I'm none the wiser and all the better informed for that.
The chook? The chook is a little bottler, mate. Go the Chooks! Thank you. |

first realitiesby daisydavidComment by insteps: Overlaying analog and digital is something we wouldn’t notice without your associated text. On the surface it seems insignificant. Why does source or process matter? It matters because this is the path we choose. Destinations are just doorways we pass through along the way. Most of our long lasting memories happen while en route.
Endless possibilities in this time warp. |

petraby daisydavidComment by SeanPresher: Great idea, but I just think that the image is too soft and not quite visible enough. I always say to people... Imagine your photo being printed on a canvas and hanging it on your wall. Will this one work? It may be lost in the print |

Hats off to Larryby daisydavidComment by bvy: Refreshing. Great composition. Not one for titles usually, but it complements and completes the piece.
Team Spleen welcomes this image to the Queen's Court.

Hats off to Larryby daisydavidComment by Phocal: Very cool shot and love the perspective taken. I really wish you had shot this a little more to the right so that the cross was more or less framed by the that steam running across it and the flower to the right. As is, my eye struggles to find a place to rest. The shifted shot would have also put less of the blown out sky in the photo, which is pretty distracting and if anywhere that is where my eye goes. |

petraby daisydavidComment by wbanning: I'm enjoying being part of the DPL "First 10" Challenge. Yours is photo #3 in my random voting stream.
This has lovely soft and gentle aura to it. The toning and exposure choices accentuate the subject really well and the pattern/placement of the feathers creates interesting combined symmetry and asymmetry. However, brightness in the very center tends to hold my attention at a less than interesting point, and the shadow at the upper left seems a bit out of character. Overall quite engaging work! |
