Fantastic Macro, good detail to it, and excellent color. This does meet the challenge but I feel you lost some points from voters cause the water droplets just distract so much from the spider had this not been an insect challenge and rather just macro I am sure that would have added to it, but in this case it hurt you.

Great subjet. I take a lot of Argiope aurantia pictures myself. I have to say, though, the house or garage makes a terrible background, and the lighting is too harsh and flat/frontal. It's a good start.

Not considered an insect. It is an aracnid. Name is actually Argiope aurantia.
