Nearly Overby westfordComment by timb: Good capture. Lighting could have been better, but we get what we get some times. :) |

The Back Paddockby westfordComment by RKT: It's a pretty landscape...looks like a nice place for a walk, but I'm loosing interest quickly and I'm not sure why. I think I'm wishing for more land and less sky. 6
I'm taking part in the Melethia comment on the first tens shots challenge. |

The Back Paddockby westfordComment by nam: I like the tones and the fact that you found an interesting enough foreground for a lovely sky. I think I would prefer less foreground, both to take the horizon more off center and to lose the brightest rock (bottom left to center) which really draws my eye away from the overall scene when there's no reason to do so. I think you may have considered this but not wanted to lose the flowers on the right?
Commenting only at this point - accepting Melethia's challenge; yours is image #4 in my random display order. |

Getting Woodby westfordComment by jomari: I intended to come back after voting and leave a comment on this. It could almost be one of the photos I have taken of my husband getting wood with a very similar background. I'd love to know where this was taken as I am also a Victorian. I was one of your 7s. |

Getting Woodby westfordComment by Covert_Oddity: I know this could be a million places but it really reminds me of where I grew up in Scotland. Not that I grew up in the middle of the country, but the hills in the background are much like those I was so used to seeing.
As such I think I have a natural fondness towards the photo. |

The Back Paddockby westfordComment by Zita: The power of that right boulder jutting into the sunset (?sunrise?) really commands this image. Only after the eye gets past that bulk do the subtleties of the distant hills emerge. I am impressed with how you have used the rock and the tree to the left to frame the land. If I had to use one word to describe this image: magnificent. |
