I think this photograph could have scored much better had it been post processed little better. But it is good photo nonetheless.

This is very dramatic. I love the lighting in this shot and your colors are just amazing. The bloats form a nice diagonal from the lower right corner up. Very nicely done.

Kelli, my first question to you would be whether you intended to make it look like this. I agree with the commenter who said it was harsh editing, but if that was your goal, then I'll just congratulate you and move on. :)

For DPC scoring, though, you have to get rid of harsh reflections. Try putting a tissue in front of the flash or lights. Diffusers work best when they're close to the subject and the light is far enough behind them to light them up totally. I just saw a picture where the guy put a piece of tracing paper across a hanger and bent the wire into a stand.

Also, the background, at least on my calibrated CRT, is so dark as to almost disappear, with just enough detail visible to distract me a lot. I wonder whether even in processing you could correct that. Even a bit brighter would settle my eyes down.

Your subject would stand out better were he in the sun. Nice scene.

Nice exposure on the central firework. A composition that didn't include the tree would have made this much better.
