Philadelphiaby KelliComment by Melethia: When you get a dSLR (rumor has it you will) and if you get a chance, go reshoot this. Find a ledge or something to set the camera on, and use the self-timer. Set the aperture to about f/7.1 or so in Aperture Priority mode (you have downloaded and are reading the manual, right?) and see what it tells you as a shutter speed. Now set the camera to manual mode, leave the aperture at f/7.1, but set the shutter speed a stop faster than it told you. Take a shot. Now change the aperture to one stop smaller and take it again. When shooting at night (and I learned this from SandyP), underexpose by a stop or two. |

highspotforDPC.jpgby KelliComment by Louis: Works excellently as a high-contrast b/w. Three elements make this work particularly well: the animal and its spots, against the the more formal vertical lines of the rough fence in back, and the whisps of grass stalks at the bottom. Nicely done. |

sunset.jpgby KelliComment by Louis: Very pretty. In my opinion the centred composition works very well, and the little cluster of silhouetted people at right is a great balance. |

Philadelphiaby KelliComment by neophyte: This looks like its taken from Camden NJ...Dangerous place. Photo could be a bit sharper. Perhaps a higher ISO might've helped. |
