I liked the skin tone and figured it was entirely intentional - the shot as a whole works this way for me just fine. Excellent work on this - from the concept through the shoot to the post processing.

This is hauntingly reminiscent of my "self portrait as raindrop" in concept and execution. I'm surprised I didn't notice it before. I don't mean "you copied me", I mean "you took an eerily similar approach", like we are thinking the same way, far outside the box. So I'm glad I'm not the only one. Fore reference, if you don't know that image (it was 4 years ago), here it is:



Check out the photographer's comments, and the back-and-forth in the comments thread. People have a REALLY hard time "getting" this stuff. But I "get" it and I love it.

Like the model's expression. Don't really care for the orange colored skin. The lighting also seems a little harsh on here shoulder/chest.

This was done in a light tent, lit from the top/behind with a halogen light. With the strong light through the fabric aimed directly at the bud it made it's own vignette.
