I like the overall composition of this one. The snake just coming into the scene is well thought out. But I think if you would have used a less distracting background (probably darker), and no plant, this would have fit the theme better.

What a huge eye - great profile too. I don't know if you have access to such a filter but a tonal contrast filter dialled really low would give just a tiny bit of crispness to the feathers. I sometimes used tonal contrast instead of sharpening.

I agree with others - very regal.

I never noticed that hawks have little eyelashes. Huey, my amazon has the little knob in it's nostril like this. I think that it must be to keep bugs or the like from plugging the nostril. That's a very sharp and detailed photo.
