You did a great job with the color in this - I especially like the patch of green grass near the center - kind of adds a spark to it. I think the composition may have hurt the score for this one, though. The one tree has a very dark side, and that with it's reflection are right in the center of the picture. Not sure you could get a lot closer unless you happened to have a boat handy, but maybe compose a bit more to the right or the left, depending on what was there.

I guess that new popup message asking for comments on scores below 4 isn't working. Six people owe you comments as to why they thought your entry sucked. I don't agree with those ratings. I like this and agree with Kivet that the sky is probably what hurt this. But skies can be fixed with advanced editing. Unfortunately, one thing that can't be fixed in post processing is the straight line of the shore that cuts the photo in half. Still I like the shot, especially the little picnic table.

A little more cropped off the right side of the photo, stronger saturation and a sharper focus on the petals would have made this a stronger photo.

A poster board or somehting behind the rose plant might have helped this image. The background light takes away from this image IMO.
