lovely dark and deepby jmritzComment by colorcarnival: I see this more as a ghostly image rather than a floral image. It's like you've captured the spirit of nature. Very cool. Message edited by author 2011-05-28 12:50:19. |

generationsby jmritzComment by EL-ROI: I gave this one some thought as to why I was voting slightly blow average. I feel the composition is not donw so well. You have the leading line of the guiderail on the left of the photo taking your eye into the lightpost and the garbage can. That seems to be where the focal point is. Then the couple is looking to the right where the action is, and the edge of the photo is right there. Nothing to explain what they are looking at, or even if you couldn't fit that in at least some open space on the right in front of the couple could have helped the viewer to ponder something. As it stands the composition is cut off. I really would have recomposed and put the couple on the left side of the frame. Other than that, the grey scale is good. A fairly high amount of midtones with some darker shadows. No real bright highlights. |

a light so brightby jmritzComment by herfotoman: You probably won't believe me, but I had the exact same idea for this challenge. Didn't have time to submit anything in the end. I really like that there is no immediate recognition of a known shape in the hand. |
