take it with a grain of saltby jmritzComment by streetpigeon: Not sure why this works for me, but it does. Perhaps it's the disconcerting slant, or the woman's position. Is she sleeping or tired or in pain? Does her walker, if it's hers, explain everything? Is there a symbolic connection between her and the machine in the center background? I'm curious about the story. I like the unpretentious ordinariness of the scene. It holds the attention and leaves one incomplete. |

behindby jmritzComment by tnun: I wonder if I will have anything left to learn when I finally understand why this picture pleases me as much as it does. I mean is it merely the strong composition, the unexpected but striking mirroring of the vertical elements, left front/right rear and all the straight edged shapes between? How much depends on the man with a dog disappearing into a telephone pole, on the dog's leash looking at once like its tail and then again (?) extending behind the man as if it were his little tail? What a wretched photograph. Thank you. |

goodby jmritzComment by Pangurban: I like the originality of this. I could imagine it being a cover of an Iain Banks novel. |

behindby jmritzComment by Gringo: I can see the "Boat" i don't think is a strong enough boat to boost you to the blue ribbon, however. The image itself has a lot of style. I hope the other voters hang out long enough to see the boat.... sadly i don't think many of them will....
Good luck! It's certainly a bold image for a challenge shot. |
