I like youby jmritzComment by scrybz: It reminds me of the work of the great modern artist and poet, Jason Steele (of Charlie the Unicorn fame):
"I love the feel of grain, the screams of a man in pain, blood when it falls like rain, showering me." |

Legacyby jmritzComment by bvy: The simplicity of this brings to mind Barnett Newman. But it has a haptic quality more reminiscent of Tapies. It's interesting that I should compare this to the work of painters, but, for that matter, this goes beyond photography. Maybe that's the real challenge for the viewer -- appreciating this as a photograph. It's an image that requires thought, meditation even -- and we just don't do that here at DPC.

I like youby jmritzComment by bspurgeon: This put a smile on my face. It's like you have cirrhosis and your long lost love has come to give you a liver...or maybe just a hug goodbye. |

Legacyby jmritzComment by ubique: I admit to being captivated by this picture, as I am by others of similar ambition. It's the same feeling I get from looking at contemporary sculpture, or from eating really good sushi ... that my experience of the thing is a part of the thing, that it is meaningless without my engagement with it. Or that I am meaningless without my engagement with it, which is even more exciting. Here the faint marks seem to be more about memory than about any current reality; and the title is so apt for that mood. I'd put this on my imaginary 2010 wall, and be stirred every time I passed by it. Thank you. |
