Jump... Gone wrong!by kb4553Comment by bohemka: Would like to see the bike more in focus. Actually, no, I'm not sure on that, but the highlighted grass is a bit distracting. Maybe just a vista or a more interesting view with the blurry bike in the corner as the "ohhh" moment. I'm rambling.
I really like the idea. Clever. But as it is the image is lacking that cliched special something. |

Jump... Gone wrong!by kb4553Comment by Donald: Exquisit lighting in the well positionned grass clump my favorite but the jump challenge theme not as prevalent as other entries. Good luck. |

Bowing under pressure - A last-minute, first entry!by kb4553Comment by Donald: I must say that the bright notes really distrack a lot from the instrument and the musician. I like the clarity of the strings and wooden arch below crossed by the swaying bow. I can't hear the sound because the bright lights are pulling me away from any scene of sound that may have been played. It's like a movie that tells your more than the whole story and forgets that we like a little suspense. Our imagination of what is heard between the strings can be much lounder than any glaring light shaped notes. I really loved some photos I've rated as much as yours simply because you embraced the theme of sound better but they seemed to handle the technical aspect the the medium better than you...for now. Good luck with the challenge. |

Bowing under pressure - A last-minute, first entry!by kb4553Comment by tanguera: Congrats on your first entry! The use of tilt is a good one, the low pov and dof are excellent, and the motion blur of the bow is fantastic, although I find the greenish/yellow overall cast a bit unattractive. I hope this does well for you.
It will be interesting to see how you achieved the floating notes within advanced editing rules (hanging from strings would be my guess). However, if you inserted them as graphics after taking the image, don't be surprised (or disappointed) if you get DQ'd. All the best photographers on DPC have at least one DQ under their belt. Even the ribbon-winners. |
