I like this one better than your entry, too. I would clone out the two black specks. What would a square crop, full height but just the right side, look like? It's easy to imagine this printed on metallic paper or on aluminum.

I like what you have done here. The exposure is bang on and that is awesome with the differing brightness in the lights. The scene is wonderfully composed. I feel it is a touch out of balance and I think adding a person on the stairs may have provided that needed balance. Possibly someone at the top silhouetted in that open space. Why don't you, on your own expertly edit a brightly lit moon in the sky. Perhaps the brightness of the moon would also help balance the shot!
