winter wonderlandby mrbig65Comment by Mark-A: I like this but those halos are so distracting :( Also I might have edited the sky to try and reduce the detail and contrasts in it, for me it just makes an otherwise serene shot a bit cluttered.
Gorgeous scene though

winter wonderlandby mrbig65Comment by JamesDowning: Not sure about the processing, it's not bad, but I don't tend to like glow like that between the ridges. Might have worked better if the glow radius was much larger, so it spread out the gradient more. |

Paint by numbersby mrbig65Comment by Purple_Girl: I appreciate the kind of shot you've tried to achieve here (and it's not easy to get such a close macro of bugs!) but there seems to be quite a lot of quality lost. It's very smooth in places and noisy in others. Shame, as the exposure, composition and colours look Ok. |

Paint by numbersby mrbig65Comment by nam: Looks as if you got good detail but used too strong a noise removal filter. I would rather see it used selectively or even have a little noise to having this satiny look, but that's personal preference. |

lambby mrbig65Comment by snaffles: Greetings from the Critique Club!
Very cute lamb and essentially a good shot with good comp and focus, I think the main problem here is the post processing. It's the first thing I noticed about the shot, not the subject. Of course it's an Expert challenge and you know you're going to be up against some stiff competition, so many feel compelled to go a little crazy with the pp. You don't need to.
Reading your notes, you mention that the lamb likes coffee and Oreo cookies...I think it would have been absolutely hilarious to have a shot of her snarfing down an Oreo, just as she started in on it so people could see what she was eating. Then a simple desat, a little bit of contrast to bring out the blacks and eh wala, a very cute and even more funny/appealing shot of a silly-looking animal doing something very silly :-)
If lamby is still around, maybe try setting a place for her...a little coffee in a coffee cup on a table and a plate with a couple of Oreos on it. Get your camera set up so you're ready, and then just shoot away as she helps herself. Hey, why not? Have some fun, especially with such a cooperative subject :-)
Feel free to PM me
