challenge where it is difficult to get in good positions, I hope that it can do, I like your picture.

I gave this a 5. The image itself is nice. Its clear, in focus, and clean. There is only one reason it got a 5 instead of a 6 - one it doesnt embrace the challenge topic in my opinion.

Oh this is just a fun shot! You ought to post it in the snapshot side challenge.

I gave this a 6 on the first pass, and to be honest, I was three second voting. I think I gave it that because it is technically competent, and I tend to vote on the generous side most of the time. To try and give more specific feedback, I think the issue with this entry is that there is nothing of interest to this image. It's just a sprinkler head that we have all seen before, and photographed with some fairly plain lighting from a straight-on side view. There isn't anything compelling to grab the viewers attention, so they hit the 4 or 5 key and press onward. It does fit the challenge in a way, though if I were adding keywords to this image, "industrial" is not one I would think to use. I do think the subject has potential, however. Some stronger side lighting would help to bring out the beauty of the metal parts, and a macro of some of the mechanical bits might suggest the challenge topic more strongly. Hope this helped.

A rather competent photo of a subject that is a stretch for the challenge.

I can see two or three arguments for this representing industry, all of which are weak at best.

- Applicability aside, I would like to examine the photograph -

The white background is always hard to pull off in a basic challenge, and on this point you did darn well, it's clean and bright.

The subject, frankly, is horrible. It's just worn enough to be ugly, but not nearly worn enough to be charming.. Oh and that color is awful, next time choose a bright green sprinkler head, or a new black one :)

Your composition is fine, but nothing special, a centered composition can work for some photographs, but this might have been much more interesting in a rule of thirds crop.

In the end, I found this slightly below average, and awarded it a 5 accordingly.

Good try, keep asking questions and trying hard, you'll have a shiny ribbon soon enough I'm sure! :)

Great job capturing the texture of the eyes. My suggestion would be to either use indirect or difussed light, as the blown highlights are super distracting.
