Love Affairby gyabanComment by HarveyG: Very engaging, bird interaction shot. You took this in very harsh midday sunlight yet you have managed to get shadow detail despite the high shutter speed, indicated by the stop motion on the water splash. Focus on the eyes is crisp. It feels unlevel, falling off to the right and perhaps a tad too central in composition. Nonetheless, I think it would be published albeit with an improved crop and rotation. |

Love Affairby gyabanComment by KarenNfld: Love the colours and action. Not sure about the composition/cropping, I think that could be improved. |

Life is not a straight line by gyabanComment by fmalan: Is there ever a week when you don't win a ribbon? I am completely awed by your dedication (even on father's day) combined with your never-ending creativity. =) Message edited by author 2011-07-01 06:03:25. |

Life is not a straight line by gyabanComment by ineedauniquename: there we go again, typical Gyaban .... just a plain old long exposure shot of headlights - meh ....... transformed with extraordinary skill and attention to setting up the shot into WOW !!!!

am honestly surprised about how well this picture does, I was expecting something around 6.3-6.5.

Years ago I attended Teacher training college... I never finished - my tutor said "... you are good but you lack that indefinable something that makes a good teacher"
You reminded me of that because well you are a good photographer but you HAVE that indefinable something that makes you an artist. There are a lot of photographers like that but what stands you out is the final piece of the Gyaban jigsaw the indefinable something to technicaly execute what you envision. |

Absolut Poisonby gyabanComment by gyaban: Originally posted by tanguera: Nicely done, Christophe. Wondering how you got the green... |
Thank you!
I'm afraid the green color is not resulting from a $300 secret process... mint syrup ;-)
As for the glow, it's lit from underneath (there are 2 holes in the black surface under the transparent glossy surface so that strobes are directed directly on the glass and on the bottle). Message edited by author 2011-06-30 12:29:38. |
