Such a piercing gaze. She asks the viewer to feel nothing. She reveals nothing. The missed focus -- or softness of focus -- perfectly suit the mood, the emotion (or lack of emotion). This is stunning.

Great approach, it just seems like the story is a little confused. I'm not sure if it's because I want one of the people to be un-blurred enough to see what's happening, or I want more separation of tones between foreground and background. I think either one or the other would make this tell a clearer story.

Not sure that I find this image all that appealing. The focus and lighting are well done. Her eyes do draw you in and make you want to see more, however the bottom half of the image is the brightest part (draws the eye) and unfortunately the least interesting part. The static straight on pose does not really add any pizazz to the image. Shooting at a angle might be more interesting or perhaps a close up of just her face.
