I couldn't figure it out, but it stayed with me. So I thought: princess and the pea? Hurry up and finish your pea(s) if you want dessert? Nonetheless it is an intriguing photo - the hour glass at 12 o'clock, and the pea at teatime.

I liked your image during voting, but loved it that much more after reading your comments and learning what you were shooting for. I have the mind of an engineer. I am pretty good at things that are literal and spacial, and perhaps not so good at pulling out the subtle and symbolic. I wish this challenge had allowed you to provide the viewer with a bit more context during voting. For those like me that are more challenged at interpreting symbolism, it would have made each image more meaningful.

I am hoping the light on the back wall represents a glimmer of hope that we can pull things out before it is too late.

This image is absolutely amazing! I don't know why you got the scores that you did. I didn't vote in this challenge but I would have probably given this an 8. One thing you have to notice is that you also received a lot of 9's and 10's which means that many people did like it. I think the most fascinating images are the ones that are higher than average on the ends. To me, that means you really struck a chord with the voters. Just my opinion. Good job.
