That's near as perfect as a 'performance piece' photograph can be. No cheesy visual tricks, just a very good idea superbly expressed. Definitely hangs on my imaginary 2010 wall. Thank you.

I like the shot, but it's too bad the bike is so modern looking.

I really like the photo, especially the processing, but I do Not like the title. Before I saw the title, I was greatly interested in trying to think of a story that would explain the bike in the background, but seeing the title and seeing that the sadness is supposedly for the bike, "cheesifies" it (yes, I did just make that word up). I would have preferred a more vague title that allows the viewer to use some imagination. Still a great photo 7

Oh I love this, everything about it, the processing, the bike, the man's outfit, his hat. 10 for you.

Back to comment... Love the concept! I have a cousin who has funerals for everything she gets rid of.

My guess is the main subject is laying flowers at the site of the old bike that is not visible in the shot. However I can't get past the very first impression that hit me when I saw this image. The bike behind the gent takes on the aspect of circular wings - with the texture grain and the somber mood I get the feeling that there is something more to the story. This photo has such a surreal look and mood to it - most probably because I cannot see anything other than the man having bicycle wings. Instead of the flowers being laid at 'gravesite' my mind has taken a different path and sees that his pained expression is because of rejection: the lady did not accept his gift of flowers.

Interesting post processing texture. I like the effect of the dark vignetting. The title changed the viewing experience for me.
