I thank you all for your comments. I had just bought a new 75-300mm lens for Christmas and I went out on the 30th to play around with it. After taking the shots and coming back I signed up for this site and noticed a moon challenge so I decided to enter een though I knew it wasn't a great shot but was looking for feedback. I look forward to the challenges to come and me stretching myself and growing in photography. At least I didn't come in last :)

Nice framing of the moon with the grass and I like the diagonal through the image. Unfortunately, the image looks over processed: it's perhaps oversharpened, and there's a weird black halo around the moon.

I like this except for the dark ring around the moon. The composition is right. It's a pleasing image overall.
