This is very yummy in all aspects...the plate offsets the food very nicely and the bamboo mat adds texture and interest. And the food made me hungry so I had to go eat before continuing to comment :-)

I think this is one that would work well with focus stacking to make everything appear in focus. I think the background should be white, not black. The butter is a bit on the bright side, some of the details are getting washed.

this cutting board would be a good background for your BBQ shot.

This makes me excited to cook, which is a great reaction. I do think the background could be a little better. Maybe replace the wine bottle with a wine glass and maybe put the other ingredients in measuring cups.

I don't mind the burnt bits. I noticed the softness right away, and also a less-than-desirable bun that reminds me of a fast food restaurant bun. The slaw seems to have lost quite a bit of color as well. I feel the color correction in this one tends to be a little on on the warm side. Would a more natural background do the food more justice? -- wooden picnic table, BBQ grill, sauce condiments containers?

The red plate is 100% perfect for this image. I really like the angles against the place mat. My main suggestion here would be to make sure the place mat takes up the whole background. The black area isn't adding anything to this photo for me.

Little changes here, as it's a great shot as is. Be careful about cropping the gravy out. a little bit more breathing room on the bottom would be nice.
