I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: This is a fabulous quirky portrait. The colours are tremendous, particularly the curtains! The pan.... a masterstroke. That decrepit frame... marvellous. The light on his face is just perfect and this contributes to outstanding balance across the frame.

Critical stuff: Nothing at all

Overall: Magnificent. 10 and a fav.

I love all of these. Maybe unintentionally, there is a series developing, at least for those of us not in Europe (but who maybe want to be). For me, this is lonely and twisted, and hints not just of an old world, but an alienating one, lush with foreboding. Maybe a bit much, but as I say, I love this.
