Man Made Fireby jagarComment by SDW: Congrats on the TOP 10! I really like this shot. From the composition to the emotion, and processing. I believe the photograph is better than the score it received. |

Man Made Fireby jagarComment by colorcarnival: You look like you are sitting awfully close to that fire. :) What a great idea for a light source. Beautiful capture of the light. Love the deep thought mode being shown here. |

Man Made Fireby jagarComment by blindjustice: The burning bush effect is great. I also can appreciate the calm folger's-commercialesque "best part of waking up" calmness of the figure- holding the cup and saying "ahhhh nothing like a roaring bush fire!" (2 feet from me!) |

vow of silenceby jagarComment by ubique: It's superb. Also very instructive: how to find the photograph, rather than merely the subject. Most photographers would have seen this as a vertical format picture. I'd likely have seen it square. But you saw it primarily as a photograph, not as a subject or a portrait, and so you made it horizontal. Which is ironic, given the fact of his silence, because it's the format that gives the picture voice. The presence of the pillar of darkness on the quiet side of the picture, which many sad souls might say was 'distracting' and had nothing to do with the portrait, actually IS the portrait. It IS a picture of darkness and light, both literally and figuratively, and that could not have happened any other way but yours. One of the few really good, enduring pictures at DPC. Thank you. |

Waiting For Doubtby jagarComment by colorcarnival: Wow this is really one very dark and moody photo. The capture of light shining on your eye is fabulous. Congrats on finishing in the top 10! |
