it's great to see a different approach besides the typical tools. seems to be a yellow overcast on whole image. perhaps, desaturating the yellow a little would help. then again, maybe it was the glow from a lamp or something. :o)

Very good composition - but handmade paper under yellow light looks blotchy, also since you dont dip fountain pens in ink having the bottle open seem being careless. Also some compression artifacts can be seen along the edge

Hey - I wanted to say thanks to all of you who commented and voted. This was a first attempt, and I can see where this kind of feedback will be instrumental in improving my work as a photographer. I hope to offer better pics as we move along. :)

As for lead in the hoses... yeech! I didn't know that. I tell ya, there's just no being a kid anymore. Yikes.

i think the choice to forget white balance in this shot doesn't really work well for me... I don't see how the yellow tint is adding to the idea...
