Goose l'orangeby CoryComment by ErikV: Wow, that is one ferocious looking beak! And I like the fact that it is looking straight at the camera. And the composition is solid.
There are a few technical / image quality issues, which were already covered by previous commenters, and these would have brought down the score a bit. |

Goose l'orangeby CoryComment by david_c: I do like the complimentary colours (the blue of the eye with the orange of the...rest of the image), but IMO this lacks some critical clarity. It feels like you were on the long end of the telephoto lens, and then did a mighty crop to get this close. I'm also guessing the homogeneous background is a result of a selection on the outline of the feathers....almost impossible to achieve with any image (again, only my opinion). Probably would have had a 5/6 from me. |

Well, since you asked... ;-)
I do really like the orange on orange, but in a FS I'd have probably given this a five. The bird looks as if it was cut out and pasted onto the background. I'm too aware of the flash (or harsh light) as well. It seems to have washed out some of the feather detail.
Another nice thing about this photo is that it brings home that bird/dinosaur connection! |

Goose l'orangeby CoryComment by Maggye: Wow! nice capture, the detail and lighting are beautiful. Those lovely creatures look so cute, but don't be fooled, once I was taking some pictures by a pond and goose chase my b... out of their territory (LOL) |
