I can only take it for granted that this was shot in natural light indoors as there are no visual clues telling me otherwise. One thing I might suggest to change about this is to zoom in closer or crop it square and get the most size out of the image to enjoy all the detail that is in the thistles and the bugs. It's not really rule of thirds or centered as far as a composition is concerned.

I like this shot - and I guess for the challenge he's entering into the water. Honestly then, I would have shot this photo from leg level to show him actually entering the water. Wide-angle should still let you have mostly the same perspective.
