You asked that your photograph be critiqued by a member of the Critique Club in this challenge.

This is a nice shot, what would have helped you is focus. Your focus is very soft. I see that your ISO is fairly high here so it may have been a darker room and that is why you needed more ISO. Sharpness would be the key in this shot, You have a nice blurred background that does compliment the face with its lighter colours. The score reflects your lack of focus and sharpness.,

You did okay for your first entry and I look forward to seeing more from you!

Thank you all for the feedback! I really enjoy the prospect of learning and evolving, and I'm not the best judge of my own product.

This entry was a little opportunistic. I happened to catch the shot just prior to learning about this contest. Though the event was outdoors on a bright sunny day, the face painting was done in a dark shaded area of the school. Since all the comments below, I'm spending a lot of time practicing and learning about light and its effect on exposure.

I like his face paint, very colorful. The photo seems soft and perhaps slightly motion blurred, however.
