This is a cute little critter. I like the way he seems to be peeking without fully opening his eyes. Too bad about the fence, but it does add to the impact of the image, sort of like an overlay.

At this Zoo they have a Tropical House & the birds are flying around you. Most of them will let you come right up to them!

This is a healthy looking Nicobar Pigeon. I don't find the BG distracting at all either. The focus is just a little soft around the bird's head. If I have time, I manually focus on the eye of the bird when shooting birds. Sometimes they move their head right when you get the shot, and it just looks out of focus. Maybe that is what happened here.
Colors are sweet. Birds are awesome.
