Drifting into the sunset by trainComment by Sammie: Beautiful picture. The reflection in the water is icing on the cake, it would have been stunning photographed over land - over water with the reflection is perfect. 10 |

Drifting into the sunset by trainComment by redmoon: I've not seen them all yet, but i know this is going to be a winner, definitly top 3, probably numero uno. However, with it being an advanced editting challenge, I might have been slightly tempted to get rid of the lines hanging from the nearest balloon ; just makes it a little bit untidy. overall - fabulous! 10. |

Drifting into the sunset by trainComment by jmsetzler: This is just simply peaceful to look at. I can almost imagine myself sitting on a dock on the lake and being witness to something like this. It feels 'silent'. The color of the light also feels very warm. I might even have my fishing pole with me when I see this. I like this composition with the sun behind the baloon. That contributes nicely to the silhouette. This is a great example of being ready to go and in the right place at the right time.
Compositionally, I think you have a couple options here that could create an even stronger image. This one feels somewhat 'static' because the horizon is splitting near the center of the frame, and the balloons with their reflections are creating a centered vertical, but slightly off balance. I think a simple tighter crop here would work nicely. Make it into a tall narrow compostion just large enough to encompass the balloons with their reflections....
Excellent work :) |

Drifting into the sunset by trainComment by MarkJay: I like your image as a silhouette... it makes for a nice one. I'm not fond of center subject compositions (my personal preference issue). |
